We have arranged a free family fun event for our members at:
Flying Leathernecks Aviation Museum
Sunday, September 21 9:00a.m. - 3:30p.m.
Members and their families will have the opportunity to learn about how planes and helicopters fly, view historic aircraft and even get to climb aboard a helicopter!
Our host will be Lt. Col. "Touch" Toettcher (USMC-retired). He will tell you and your family all about the aircraft on display from 9:00a.m. -3:30p.m.
*** As a special treat for our members ***
GO INSIDE A HELICOPTER
Touch will open one of the helicopters at 10:00am for a brief talk -- so our group may climb aboard to learn about the cargo area and cockpit. DON’T MISS IT!
SCAVENGER HUNT
There will also be an "I Spy" scavenger hunt offered throughout the day.
SPEND THE DAY AND HAVE A PICNIC
There are picnic tables, so feel free to
bring a lunch!
Stay a little while or all day, it's up to you and your family!
This will be a wonderful opportunity to view the museum, and learn about
the mechanics of flight and history. The museum offers educational field
trips throughout the year too!
MUSEUM DIRECTIONS
Entrance to the Museum is off Miramar Road between Cabot and Camino Ruiz.
Look for the planes and the flags!
There is no charge for parking.
